The club is currently building a layout showing the station and goods yard at Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire in the period late 1940's to late 1950's. Most of the buildings have been constructed by David Garner.
The layout was 'LAYOUT OF THE MONTH ' in the November 2005 issue of

Mellfield was the clubs main exhibition layout until the end of 2002 when it was placed into semi-retirement. Since then it had been resurrected in our new clubrooms and trains were again running on it, however as we needed the space for another new 4mm layout the decision was made to scrap it and it was consigned to the skip in August 2007. This layout had featured in Railway Modeller. It was approximately 30 feet by 8 feet with the track to the fiddle yards being in a dog bone format. It too was based on a West Yorkshire theme, the name Mellfied being derived from the name of the village where the clubrooms were until a couple of years ago, Meltham (Mell) and of course, the word 'field' from Huddersfield Railway Modellers.
